Glorious Rose Gratin Dauphinois

Gratin Dauphinois is the kind of dish that feels like a warm hug. Humble ingredients, slow heat, and somehow the result is pure magic. The classic French version is already perfect as it is. But I couldn't help myself. I added a tomato-based sauce into the cream, just enough to give it that beautiful rosy blush and a quiet depth of flavor. It doesn't overpower the potato.
